Mountain View Transportation Management Association (MTMA)
The city government of Mountain View has recognized one transportation problem in Silicon Valley that significantly impacts citizens and properties in their jurisdiction -- an increasing number of privately operated busses and other large multi-passenger vehicles. Often observed is the glaring inefficiency and inconvenience of similar routes largely duplicated with vehicles operated by different employer companies, with some of these vehicles running well below their passenger capacity.
Recently, as a condition of approval for development proposals by large employers within Mountain View, the Mountain View city council required that the non-profit MTMA be formed and functioning in the private sector.
