This older Amaryllis bulb was a gift to us. Now is its third or fourth consecutive annual blooming performance in what has become an anticipated holiday season event at our home. The stalk holds the double flowers this year almost two feet above the bulb -- an increase from the past.

This celebratory naming will recognize his brilliant red color, timely consistency, and perennially honor the San Francisco 49er football team during the January playoffs for being the 2013 National Football Conference (NFC) Champions.
