Mr. Judd (1928 - 1994) apparently was not a licensed 'Architect'. And his quote seems to validate architecture also as a proper part of other professional disciplines, science, and art.

Note: Many government jurisdictions worldwide have registration programs to establish licensed Architects. Most candidates that successfully complete the comprehensive registration process are indeed exceptionally gifted to envision buildings and provide for the public's interests regarding buildings. This sometimes arduous process may contribute to the architectural professional's respected standing in society. People not qualified by registration may or may not possess the same abilities and skills demonstrated by individuals that use the often protected professional title 'Architect'
