Cali HSR: Silicon Valley to Central Valley

The Pacheco Pass is an area of the Diablo Range in northern California. This relatively long low mountain pass lies in a possible high-speed rail (HSR) corridor apparently being considered between Gilroy Station and the City of Chowchilla in the Great Central Valley.

2018 California State Rail Plan
(Excerpt) "Your answers to this survey will help inform the development of the 2018 California State Rail Plan, which will provide an exciting new framework for California’s rail network and set the stage for new and better rail service and community connections in the State for the next 20 years and beyond. Caltrans plans to make the rail network more efficient, seamless and better integrated and connected to provide a better transportation alternative for Californians. The plan supports efficient movement of freight by rail, which benefits California by reducing roadway congestion, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions."
